Winter in The Great American West

Heritage River Landing project set to be completed in June 2019
The Heritage River Landing project will offer a restaurant and bar overlooking the Missouri River. Buy tickets for the Lewis & Clark Riverboat, and enjoy the interactive kiosk for information on the history and scenery of places along the Missouri River.

The new Turtle Mountain Chippewa Heritage Center
The new Turtle Mountain Chippewa Heritage Center will be a circular structure built inside a concrete medicine wheel which is a spiritual symbol for American Indians, set to open in Spring 2019.

Ice fishing at Devils Lake
Devils Lake is one of the best places for you to take your fishing to the next level in the winter by going ice fishing. Devils Lake is the largest natural body of water in North Dakota and has an abundance of walleye, large perch, northern pike and white bass. You don’t have to worry about crowds as there is more than 16,000 acres where you can fish here! Other top ice fishing spots in North Dakota include Lake Renwick, Lake Metigoshe, Lake Sakakawea, and Lake Audubon.

Fargo's Frostival
Overcome your winter blues by heading to Fargo for their annual Frostival on January 25-26, 2019. The Frostival is run across four Fargo locations and offers exciting winter activities including outdoor skating, a cocoa cook-off and concert on the Friday. On Saturday try some really different games including Kickball and Disc Golf Tournaments, cardboard sled races, inflatable games, frozen turkey bowling, and Happy Feet dance classes. Additionally, there are less strenuous activities such as viewing the snow sculpture competition, sleigh rides, chili feed, marshmallow roast, ‘Snowman Storytime’ with Moorhead Library, and snow yoga. With most activities free of charge, this is a perfect event for the whole family to have some winter fun.

Woodland Resort
Woodland Resort is a premier fishing lodge with modern cabins, new suites, deluxe lodge units, and motel rooms. It is Devil Lake’s only full-service resort on the shores of Creel Bay and has a camping area, bait shop, boat rental, and tasty restaurant. The resort offers various fishing packages including one where you go ice fishing at Devil’s Lake with equipment, meals and lodging provided. You will be assisted by a guide from the Perch Patrol Guide Service which has some of the most sought-after fishing guides in North Dakota.
