NSW has beaten its own national record with more than four million international visitors spending over $10 billion for the year ending June 2018, according to the recent International Visitor Survey (IVS).
Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said he was proud to see the wide dispersal of visitation and expenditure across the entire State.
“Sydney is always a star performer, renowned for being a magnet for international tourists, though I’m pleased more and more visitors are traveling beyond the city and getting out and experiencing all that rural and regional NSW have to offer,” Mr Marshall said.
“Regional NSW has recorded the highest increase in international visitors for regional Australia, which is brilliant news for the many hardworking and passionate tourism operators from the coast to the country.”
In the year ending June 2018 NSW received more than 4.3 million visitors (+5.9 per cent) who stayed 94.4 million nights (+2.1 per cent*) and spent $10.5 billion (+3.9 per cent*) compared with YE June 2017.
