The Whitsundays’ newest playground, at the Jubilee Tavern, in Jubilee Pocket, is proving a hit with families.
Opened on Friday, December 14, just in time for Christmas, the fully undercover playground makes for an “even more exciting and fantastic family venue”, just outside Airlie Beach.
Mum of three Tania Henderson, from the UK, said the playground had been a real boon during their holiday.
"It's completely safe and undercover, so they can't get sunburnt or wet if it rains," she said.
"And we were able to sit and watch the children and enjoy a nice meal at the same time."
With an outdoor dining area and big-screen TV as well, the Jubilee Tavern, established 1997, is also a great place for adults, offering ice-cold beer, lunch and dinner in the bistro, TAB & Keno facilities, TV sports and a Pokie room.
With its casual, relaxed atmosphere and smiling, friendly staff, the Jubilee Tavern prides itself on making visitors to the Whitsundays “feel like locals".
