Laos for a Lazy $189

Laos
Mystical, landlocked Laos is shortlisted as a “must see country” for 2019, and “Scoot's New Route” launch fare is on now with hot deals on offer until 23.59 (Perth/Sin time) on Tuesday 22nd January, 2019.*

Fly from Perth ((via Singapore) to Luang Prabang and Vientiane from a laughable $189, $199 from Gold Coast, and $209 from Sydney and Melbourne, (Fly fare, with bags and food extra) per way, and this includes all taxes. For travel before October 26, 2019.

The thrice weekly flights (TR 350) depart Singapore at 0900 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, arrive into Luang Prabang at 1110, and then on to Vientiane by 1300, and depart Vientiane at 1350 to arrive back in Singapore at 1800 (all local times – with no domestic flight available between Luang Prabang and Vientiane)

Scoot has timed its launch flight for April 1, just in time for an arrival for Lao New Year – or as the locals know it – Pi Mai. This two day celebration at the hottest time of the year is a fun, water drenched festival, that sees locals and tourists battle it out with water pistols, buckets of cooling water and hoses, cups, bottles, and a surprise saturating can occur, inside or out, on your bike, on foot or while relaxing! All in the name of fun, young and old get into the spirt, so be warned to cover your phone and cameras!

Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Scoot CEO, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Laos to our network. We are confident that the addition of Vientiane and Luang Prabang will boost Scoot's proposition as a network carrier offering refreshing travel opportunities for those seeking authentic experiences off the beaten track. Travellers can also look forward to more extraordinary travel experiences with us as we plan to add even more new destinations to our network this year.”

Escape the ordinary with Scoot and join the humbling alms giving ceremony at dawn in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO protected, lush historic town, encircled by the Phou Thao and Phou Nang mountains. Take a hike, go caving or trekking, or sail on a relaxing sunset cruise down the majestic Mekong that wends its way south towards Vietnam. Bathe in the extraordinary Kuang Si waterfalls, or visit the elephant sanctuary and help bath these rescued gentle giants in the river.

French influence abounds here, deftly blended with local styles and traditions, and the royal and religious (once capital), on the Silk route, is said by legend, to be where Bhudda rested and smiled on his travels.

Or Scoot to Vientiane which is now the administrative capital, that today is rich in history, but whose French influences are seen today in modern alfresco cafes, riverside restaurants and architecture. Take a leisurely tour around town in a songthaew (open share bus) and the National Museum will provide an insight into the fascinating city's history. Be prepared to slow right down here, you'll see rice paddies on the edge of town and enjoy some peaceful time at Pha That Luang, the historic Bhuddist Temple dating back to the 1500's.

Laos
The three-times-weekly flights operated with Scoot's A320 aircraft are due to commence on 1 April 2019*. They will operate a circular routing departing from Singapore for Luang Prabang, followed by Vientiane, before heading back to Singapore. These routes were transferred from sister airline SilkAir, making Scoot the only airline offering direct Singapore-Laos flights from April 2019. Luang Prabang and Vientiane are the first two of several new destinations Scoot will be adding to its network this year.
