As part of the 2019 Chinese New Year Celebrations, Sydney will host a new Lunar Festival, welcoming tourists as well as Sydney’s multicultural Chinese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malaysian communities to celebrate ‘The Year of the Pig’.
Over the past 22 years, the festival has grown from a small community event in Chinatown to the largest in the world outside of Asia.
‘The Year of the Pig’ celebrations run from 1-10 February, including a Lunar Lanterns' exhibition, dragon boat races and film screenings.
