Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, your way

La Bohème
The bohemian students at the heart of La Bohème can hardly make rent, but Musetta and Mimì have beaus that can splash the cash. Whatever your budget, there are lots of ways to enjoy La Bohème.

Whether you pay $99 for a ticket or treat yourself to the best seats in the house, you’ll have a brilliant view of the romantic Parisian streetscape (and a decent chance of getting caught in the stunning falling snow at interval).

Arrival

Amble through the Royal Botanic Garden — before the gates are locked at 6pm — or splash out (see what we did there?) on a water taxi to get to Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour. You can also catch public transport or drive and park a short distance away.

Any way you choose, it’s a picturesque entry to the purpose-built opera house.

Dining out

The site opens at 5pm, so make sure you clock off in time to catch the setting sun glittering over Sydney Harbour. Each of the five bars and restaurants on site offer a great view of the iconic skyline. You can keep things simple with drinks and nibbles at the Qantas Garden Bar, fuel up with French-inspired fare at the Northern Terrace or Southern Terrace or make the most of your evening with a luxurious meal in the Platinum Club. Have a look at the dining options here and plan your perfect night out.
