ENDLESS SUMMER OF SURFING IN NSW

This Summer, NSW will host five World Surf League Qualifying Series and Junior Tour events, providing a perfect excuse to lap up more than 2,000 kilometres of the State’s coastline – home to some of the best surfers and beaches in the world.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said the 2017 surfing calendar promises to be the biggest and best yet.

“NSW has an incredible coastline and a well-earned reputation around the world as a surfing destination. In 2016, surfing events entertained more than 109,000 spectators, including more than 4,000 overnight visitors to NSW. I encourage all surfing fans to check out these amazing events, or visit a NSW beach,” Ms Chipchase said.

The five spectacular surfing events are the NSW Pro Surf Series, the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle, the Australian Surfing Awards, Surfest and the Australian Open of Surfing.

NSW has hundreds of beautiful beaches, plus nine National Surfing Reserves dotted along the coastline from Shellharbour in the south to Lennox Head in the north. They offer some awesome surf breaks for everyone from novices through to experts.
