Aerial acrobatic bird show comes to Australian Reptile Park

TAWNY FROGMOUTH
Iconic birds of prey, parrots and cockatoos will be demonstrating their aerial acrobatics in an all new Feathered Friends interactive bird show at the Australian Reptile Park on the Central Coast in the July school holidays.

Taking place daily on the park grasslands Feathered Friends will feature Barn Owls, Red Tailed Black Cockatoos, Masked Owls, Tawyn Frogmouths, Boobook Owls, Long-billed Corellas and Australia’s largest bird of prey the Wedge-tailed Eagle. Plus adding to the Aussie flock will be a Blue and Gold Macaw from South America.

“Feathered Friends is a birds version of Cirque Du Soleil,” says, Ranger Mick, head show keeper at Australian Reptile Park.

“Guests will be amazed at what these birds can do. A real hero of the show is Giselle the Barn Owl. She has made appearances on primetime television shows for her beauty and skill. Giselle will demonstrate her natural ability to soar, swoop, dive and manoeuvre like an aerial acrobat, before returning to land on her handler’s glove.”

Feathered Friends is also an educational show, allowing guests to learn and understand the lifecycle and habitat of the birds, who have all had different backgrounds in their raising to form a natural bond with their handlers.

Feathered Friends will take place at 12.30pm daily during the July School Holidays at Australian Reptile Park. Regular park shows on Reptiles, Tasmanian Devils, Koalas and Dingoes will also take place daily, along with park hero experiences including free range kangaroo feeding, Elvis the crocodile feeding, and a walk with Hugo the giant Galapagos tortoise.

The park’s resident dingoes, Adina and Fred will also have their five baby dingoes out and about for guests to enjoy a cuddle and a pat.

Australian Reptile Park is open daily from 9am ‘til 5pm, located at Somersby on the Central Coast of New South Wales, with complimentary parking and BBQ facilities.

All shows are included in admission prices at $34 for adults, $18 for children (aged 3-15 years) or $90 for a family pass of 2 adults and 2 children. For further information see www.reptilepark.com.au
