Cherry blossom festivals to open in Ha Long and Da Nang

Japanese cherry blossom festivals will take place in Ha Long and Da Nang cities in March and April with various attractive activities which aim to diversify cultural, tourism events and strengthen cultural exchange between Viet Nam - Japan.

In Ha Long, the festival themed “Integration - Cooperation and Development” will be held from 18 - 23 March at 30/10 Square, Ha Long City (Quang Ninh Province). The festival will introduce Japan’s culture and image of the national flower to local people and visitors, furthermore promote tourism potential of Ha Long.

The festival will contribute to strengthening bilateral diplomatic relation between Viet Nam and Japan, intensifying trade and tourism development cooperation between the two countries’ businesses.

Coming to the event, visitors will have chance to learn more about “Land of the rising sun” through a series of exciting activities such as art and cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Japanese artists; introduction of unique culture of Japan; sakura exhibition; 150-200 tourism, culture, cuisine, souvenir booths of the two countries.

On this occasion, Quang Ninh Province will organize a seminar on promotion cooperation and tourism development investment between Viet Nam and Japan; and sign memoranda of understanding (MOU) on investment cooperation in tourism development between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses and Ha Long City.

A similar cherry blossom festival is expected to open in Da Nang City from 9-10 April with many traditional activities of Japan like Japanese culinary, Kimono fashion show, origami paper folding, Ikebana flower arrangement...

Recently, Foreign Affairs Department of Da Nang City has received 150 cherry blossom trees (including 100 saplings and 50 branches) as gifts from the Japan Sakura Exchange Association. Of which, 100 saplings were planted in Asia Park and 50 branches will be delivered to the cherry blossom festival that promises to bring visitors a colorful space.
