Bringing the country to the city since 1823, the iconic event welcomes visitors to sample country Australian life in the heart of Sydney at Sydney Olympic Park. The Show has something for everyone, including the action-packed international rodeo, woodchop and polo competitions, carnival rides, nightly fireworks, animals on display and a record 352 showbags.
Special Show Days
The Show begins with its Official Opening on Saturday 19 March and the firstGrand Parade but, there are a range of special events and discounted ticket prices offered throughout the 14 day show. Senior showgoers will benefit from a half-price ticket on Seniors’ Day on both Tuesday 22 March and Wednesday 23 March. The last day of the Show is Kids’ Day, where all children aged 4 to 17 years enjoy half-price entry and two for one carnival rides until 5pm.Food and Wine
From gourmet food and wine experiences to a quick snack on the go, there is a taste for everyone at the Show. The Country Women’s Association (CWA) ladies will be back serving their popular freshly-baked scones with jam and cream, alongside piping-hot tea in the CWA Tea Room. The Woolworths Fresh Food Dome is set to be a hit once again with the Food Lovers’ Walk, where visitors can enjoy a culinary adventure, sampling a range of delights such as Irrewarra Natural Ice Cream, Morish Nuts and Origin Chocolate.Animal Walk Trail
Learn about Australian agriculture by weaving in and out of the pavilions on the Animal Walk where you’ll encounter sheep, chooks, pigs, cows, horses, dogs and more. It’s the best way to see all the Sydney Royal award-winning animals and gives youngsters the chance to meet new friends at the Farmyard Nursery, an open-plan indoor paddock with more than 800 free-range animals to pat.Entertainment at the Show
From traditional favourites, to new events and attractions, the entertainment line-up at the 2016 Show will excite both young and old, including The Man from Snowy River Spectacular back by popular demand. Feel the thunder of 60 cattle and 40 horses as they gallop past and enjoy a soundtrack from original music composer, Bruce Rowland. End the day watching the night time show with firework spectacular, Colours of the Outback, new to the 2016 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Fireworks will be accompanied by a didgeridoo and drum soundtrack.
