China Unveils World’s Longest Glass Skywalk

The glass walkway over the Grand Canyon in the U.S. is quite impressive and was previously the longest glass bridge in the world, but a new installation in Chongqing, China, has just beat it by approx. 15 feet.

The skywalk in Chongqing’s Longgang scenic area is 5,000 feet above the ground and cantilevers out 90 feet over the cliff in a daring U-shape.

Up to 30 visitors at a time can cross the skywalk, peering through its clear surface thousands of feet below.

What is now the world’s longest glass cantilever bridge will be open for not only tourist visitation, but will also serve as the majestic setting for performances, such as fashion shows, acrobatics and even base jumping.
