BOWLED OVER WITH SUCCESS – INDIAN TOURISM CAMPAIGN TO BE SHOWN DURING CRICKET WORLD CUP

The success of a tourism campaign showcasing Sydney and New South Wales (NSW) will be expanded onto Indian television screens to encourage more people to experience the beauty of NSW for themselves.

Jhappi Time, which was created and managed by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, has partnered with Singapore Airlines who will offer special airfares to Indian travellers to Sydney from February to November this year.
NSW Premier Mike Baird made the announcement in Mumbai this week.

“India is a priority market for NSW and these ads will be shown during the ICC Cricket World Cup, beaming pictures of NSW into millions of homes across India during the tournament,” Mr Baird said.

In addition Destination NSW will host 30 of the most influential retailers and wholesalers from across India to take part in a familiarisation tour of NSW from 8 February to 13 February 2015 to ensure the industry is familiar with the products on offer in NSW.

“The success of the Jhappi Time campaign means more people are asking travel agents for details about the regional locations featured in the commercials, including the Blue Mountains, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley,” Mr Baird said.

“We’ll take the delegation to these areas and others to show them the natural beauty of regional NSW so they can share details of their own personal experiences with their clients back home.”
