The Rocks DreamingThe Rocks Dreaming tour was officially launched this week during a ceremony at The Rocks Discovery Museum. The tour shares the stories of Sydney’s contemporary Aboriginal society, its connections to The Rocks and modern Sydney.
Visitors will learn how the harbour, waterways, sandstone strata and marine environment influenced the way Aboriginal people lived in the area.
The tour was first offered in 2007 to school groups and due to increasing demand, is now open to tourists and local markets.
The Rocks Dreaming was developed by Aboriginal Elder Margret Campbell and is led by Aboriginal guides who have ‘permission’ to share the stories of Sydney’s Indigenous history.
The 90-minute tours will operate at 10.30am Wednesday–Sundays and cost $42 per adult, $39 concession and $32 per child (children under eight years are free).
