Shop Till You Drop at The Korea Grand Sale 2013

If you are planning on stopping over in Korea this winter then the Korea Grand Sale 2013 is a shopping extravaganza like no other. Hosted by the Visit Korea Committee this shopping festival for foreign tourists will run from January 11 to February 28, 2013.

The Korea Grand Sale 2013 will offer foreign visitors huge discounts and special offers on shopping, lodging, food, beverages, art performances and more. Free hotel room nights will also be part of the event allowing visitors a 'free night's stay' when they book three or four nights stay at designated hotels.

Major department stores, duty-free shops, retail outlets and convenience stores across the country are participating. Run for the past two years The Korea Grand Sale 2013 is planned to be the largest in scale so far and will provide a wide variety of discount benefits and special gifts.

For the Korea Grand Sale 2013, leading department stores such as Galleria, Lotte, Shinsegae and Hyundai, and duty-free shops such as Dongwha, Lotte, Shilla, Walkerhill and the Korea Tourism Organization will participate. Also, representative shopping malls such as Doota, Hello apM, Gimpo Airport Outlet, and Yeoju & Paju Premium Outlets will join the festival to expand the variety of shopping.

In addition, a wide range of benefits including discounts for major Korean attractions and performances, will also be offered. The festival will be providing a variety of shopping and tourism information online as well as offline and will hold events allowing foreigners to enjoy the various attractions of Korea.

The Visit Korea Committee will be operating a special event stage in Myeong-dong, providing shopping and tourism information and will hold various experience programs, including traditional Korean food tasting and makeup tutorials. An opening ceremony will be followed by various events, including a K-POP concert, theme weeks of each participating vendor, and other interactive events to promote the participation of foreign tourists and elevate the festive atmosphere.

Also, 50 top-class hotels across the country will offer "3+1" or "4+1" accommodation benefits where foreign visitors will be provided with a free additional nights stay. The participating hotels will also offer various discounts on foods and beverages to foreign guests during the Korea Grand Sale period.

"The Korea Grand Sale 2013 will celebrate the achievement of 10 million foreign tourists visiting Korea each year. In celebration of this achievement, the festival will offer various shopping conveniences and benefits to foreign visitors and will establish links with local government events. The festival will be a great opportunity to refresh the awareness of visiting Korea," said Han Kyung-Ah, Executive Director of the Visit Korea Committee. Han added, "The Committee will do its best to build the Korea Grand Sale as the leading shopping and tourism festival of Asia."
