Upper Hunter Food & Wine Affair 2011

One of the region’s most anticipated annual events, The Upper Hunter Wine and Food Affair, is on tomorrow, Saturday 7th May 2011 from 11am til 4pm in Denman, NSW, Australia. The township of Denman is 26 km, or 22 minutes drive, from Muswellbrook.

The Wine and food Affair features delicious gourmet food prepared by some of the region’s top restaurants, a sample tastings of the area’s award winning wine. People can sit back relaxing to jazz or rock bands, or stroll along the historic streetscape of Ogilvie Street, the main street in Denman, which will closed to vehicle traffic for the day. .

Some of this year’s food exhibitors will include:- Hot roasted nuts from Absolutely Nuts, bread from Bacco’s Bakeries, sizzling Thai from Oz Thai, Olive oils and olive products from Pukara Estate, handmade cheeses and cheese platters from Hunter Belle Cheese, the signature dish of calamari from The Verandah Restaurant, homemade cookies from Hunter Valley Cookies, Olive products, relishes and sauces from River Flats, Mini Dutch Pancakes, The Olive Tree’s famous Paella, Pizzas made to order by The Wood Fired Pizza Guy, delicious steak from Lincoln Red Beef Direct, gorgeous cupcakes by Fantasy cupcakes, oysters and prawns fresh from the sea from Alldinga Oysters, homemade relishes and sauces from Jenny’s Kitchen, tasty beef from the BBQ of Alexander Downs, Turkish Gozleme from Master Turkish Foods and BBQ kebabs and nachos from St Josephs.
 
Wine is available for tasting and 5 tokens are included with the souvenir Upper Hunter Wine and Food Affair wine glass. If you like what you taste, buy a glass to enjoy with lunch or take home some of the specials on the day in a case. Wineries attending include Two Rivers, Cruikshank’s, Catherine Vale Wines, Omadale Brook Estate, James Estate and Hollydene Estate

Pull up at a table and chairs with some friends and enjoy the roving jazz bands, rock bands and amazing street theatre.Children will be able to enjoy the fun in the park There will be rides for all ages, with many rides free, along with the usual favourites including Sparkles the Clown, Jake the Magician and the special Fairy Good Elf face painting fairies.
