Perisher Prepares for Winter with Major Infrastructure Upgrades

As the 2026 snow season approaches, Perisher Alpine Resort is ensuring its lifts, terrain, and facilities are ready for a seamless winter experience. A series of key infrastructure projects across the resort promise improved safety, accessibility, and guest convenience.

Pretty Valley Lift Refurbishment Completed

At Pretty Valley, essential upgrade works on the return station have been finalised. The bull-wheel bearings have been replaced and a new liner installed, critical components that ensure smooth lift operation. With this refurbishment complete, the lift assembly has been reinstalled and is ready for the winter season, providing reliable service for skiers and snowboarders.

Perisher Express Gets a Modern Operator Hut

Significant improvements are also underway at the Perisher Express quad chair. The resort’s maintenance teams are constructing a new lift operator’s hut at the return station. The upgraded facility includes a storage room for hand tools such as shovels and rakes, as well as a dedicated space for a standby generator, improving both operational efficiency and safety. Meanwhile, the electrical department has begun reinstalling all lift control panels and switchboards, a key step in readying the lift for winter use.

Front Valley Terrain Expansion

On the slopes, earthworks at the former halfpipe site on Front Valley have been completed, making way for the relocation of a skier conveyor. The new conveyor alignment will open up additional skiing terrain at the base of Front Valley, reducing congestion during peak times and improving guest flow throughout the area.
