Recently announced services, secured through the Queensland Government’s Attracting Aviation Investment Fund (AAIF) in partnership with the state’s airports, include:
- Qantas Manila to Brisbane
- Jetstar Bangkok to Brisbane
- Indonesia AirAsia Denpasar to Cairns
- Jetstar Auckland to Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore)
- Jetstar Christchurch to Cairns
- Cathay Pacific Hong Kong to Cairns
Additionally, a number of existing carriers have increased frequency during key periods, with seasonal increases on China Eastern’s Shanghai to Brisbane service and China Southern’s Guangzhou to Brisbane service during July and increased capacity and seasonal services from New Zealand to Cairns, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
During 2023-24, Brisbane Airport welcomed more than 22 million passengers, according to their latest data. The airport connects to 62 domestic destinations and 32 international ports. Passenger numbers are up by 2.5 million on the previous year, representing 95 per cent on 2019 levels.
