Skyscanner reveals huge spike in travel interest to Queensland with borders now open to domestic travellers

Coming to you with new data from Skyscanner revealing a strong interest in travel to Queensland, with borders now reopen to domestic travellers.

In the past week alone, Skyscanner saw a staggering +509% increase in searches to Brisbane, compared to a +22% immediate increase in overall visitors to the site, following the news that Queensland would reopen its borders for domestic travellers, without the need for quarantine on arrival.*

Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns topped the searched destinations in Queensland for the summer months by travellers on Skyscanner.com.au.** In addition to this, searches to the Gold Coast shot up by +11%, Brisbane +91% and Cairns +70%, compared to the previous day, on the day restrictions easing were announced (6th Dec).***
