P&O Cruises Australia ‘Adventurers’ Patrea and Ed Fly to America to Pursue Cruising Passion Denied to them at Home

P&O Cruises Australia’s ‘Adventurers’ Patrea and Ed Stuttard are so passionate about cruising they’re about to fly to America so they can again holiday at sea.

With cruising suspended in Australia for nearly two years, Patrea and Ed are making up for lost time and cruising by doing six voyages with sister line, Carnival Cruise Line.

An amazing five of the cruises are back-to-back with a short break in Las Vegas before embarking on the sixth cruise.

The couple shared news of their fly-cruise adventure with P&O and with high profile cruise blogger Honida Beram of ‘Cruising with Honey’ fame.

“We can’t cruise from Australia at the moment and we wanted to celebrate the New Year at sea so we decided we needed to sail out of the US,” Patrea and Ed said in an email chat.

“We believe the cruise line has minimised any Covid-19 risk as much as they can, and so have we! The risk of getting it on a cruise is much lower than visiting a shopping centre or visiting a football game.

“And three million or more people have cruised in the US since it opened back up.”

Honida, whose social media followers are anxiously awaiting the restart of cruising in Australia, said more cruise fans were likely to follow Patrea and Ed’s lead and head overseas to cruise.

“Impatience is growing in the local cruise community for a restart plan for cruising in Australia,” Honida said.

“People can’t understand how it’s possible to fly overseas and jump on a cruise but they can’t cruise in their own backyard.”

Patrea and Ed hope their experience will be a guide for others that cruising can be safely managed in a covid environment.

They said: “We’re only doing this trip (to America) because we can’t cruise locally. We would have liked to do back to back cruises from Australia and the money would go back to the local economy. Now all we can do is bring the positive cruise story back home.”

Patrea and Ed fly out on December 27 and we wish them bon voyage and hope we can welcome them back onboard a P&O ship in Australia before too long.

The couple are loyal P&O guests and part of the cruise line’s group of ‘Adventurers’ who in 2018, were invited to help design the much anticipated ship, Pacific Adventure.
