The most popular spot to see the autumn leaves of the highest mountain in the Chugoku region is Kagikake Pass.
If you look at the 1700m mountain from an altitude of 910m, you can see a large-scale mountain surface that stands like a wall behind dense forest in the foreground.
"It is such a pleasure for local residents to see the process of autumn leaves spreading from top to the bottom of mountain. The views are incredible, words can’t describe them!"
The umbrellas and large lanterns light up the Daisen night with a multitude of colours.
Due to the pandemic, the event of this year was scheduled to be postponed from August to October, but unfortunately it was canceled.
The umbrellas to be installed here are made by Tottori craftspeople in the image of the landscapes found during each of the four seasons around Mt. Daisen.
Hope we don`t miss this event next year!
