Located in the Valley of Yokoyu River, the area became known as Hell Valley since ancient time as the steam produced by the valley gives off an image of a burning hell.
But the surrounding area resembles nothing like hell.
When temperatures drop in winter, the whole park is filled with snow and the wild monkeys come to bathe in the hot springs to warm themselves up.
Living in large social groups, watching the snow monkeys interacting and relaxing creates a curious scene. You can also observe them via live cameras!
