Art Aquarium Museum in Japan

A stunning summer event since 2007, Art Aquarium intergrates digital art and Japanese culture, featuring goldfish as living works of art.

At the Art Aquarium Museum (opening 28 August 2020) which is its new permanent space in Nihonbashi, you will be awestrucked by the beauty of 30,000 live goldfish swimming in glass vessels of various designs, from the towering glass cylinders of the ‘Forest of Kingyo’ to the spherical fountains of ‘Oiran Way’ (inspired by the Edo-era courtesan districts).

The mesmerising moving artwork is illuminated with light projections and multicoloured lights, providing a feast for the eyes.
