The Whitsundays is known as the ‘Wedding Heart’ of Australia due to its sublime views, gorgeous climate and Heart Reef, a natural coral formation in the shape of a heart that has prompted many a wedding proposal.
And now things have got even better, with a fantastic competition launched yesterday in which one lucky couple will win a ‘Wedding in Paradise’ valued at more than $50,000.
To celebrate Australia’s recent announcement of love equality, local wedding supplier organisation Weddings Whitsundays, in partnership with Paradise Cove Resort and The Wedding Planners Whitsundays, is giving all engaged couples the chance to win an all-inclusive Whitsundays wedding package.
The package has been crafted by The Wedding Planners Whitsundays and includes exclusive use of Paradise Cove Resort for two days, jet boat and seaplane transfers for the bridal party and guests, photography, videography, décor and styling, post-ceremony and reception catering, plus an array of additional wedding services.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was brought to life by Paradise Cove Resort operator Julie Telford, who was inspired by Australia’s legalisation of same-sex marriage in December last year.
“Paradise Cove Resort is 100 per cent supportive of same-sex marriage and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the new legislation than to give all engaged couples a chance to win their dream wedding at our piece of paradise,” she said.
“We’re proud to offer our resort for such a wonderful competition and can’t wait to create the perfect dream wedding. Love is love!”
As the exclusive wedding and event coordinator for Paradise Cove Resort, Jess Lawrence from The Wedding Planners Whitsundays was quick to support the competition, as were the many dedicated professionals who live and breathe weddings in the Whitsundays, quickly escalating the prize pool to over $50,000.
Tourism Whitsundays Sales & Marketing Manager Tash Wheeler said the competition was very exciting for the region and showed just how supportive of weddings the Whitsundays is.
“We have a very professional and hardworking weddings industry in the Whitsundays and every single wedding is given the absolute highest standard of service, no matter how small or large and no matter where it takes place – on an island, on a boat or on the mainland,” she said.
“We welcome all couples to the wonderful Whitsundays and we are now looking forward to making dreams come true for same-sex couples. It really is a perfect place to get married and you can bring your family and friends for a week-long break in our tropical paradise.”
Weddings Whitsundays is running the ‘Win a Wedding in Paradise’ competition via its Facebook page throughout February, with entries closing on February 28.
The winner will be announced on March 3 with the wedding day to take place on August 3, 2018. For more information click here.
