Love is in the air in Melbourne this Valentines

Valentine’s Day has rolled around again, and in Melbourne, the city of romance, there are endless options of fun and indulgent things to do.

It’s late afternoon, the sun is setting and the streets of Melbourne are filling with loved up couples looking for an intimate place to start their celebrations. Juliet Melbourne, sister bar to the more macho Punch Lane, offers a cosy setting and quality food with a special Valentine’s Day special of $65 per head for four cocktails and tasting plates to share.

Couples or couples-to-be can settle in for a romantic evening at South Yarra’s latest hot spot, Bar Carolina and indulge in a three-course menu for $85 per person, which includes a glass of Prosseco and red rose on arrival.

QT Melbourne’s Pascale Bar & Grill has created the ultimate declaration of love with 'Room for Dessert' served with a side of pillow-talk. QT's signature restaurants will set the scene for spontaneity, adventure and romance, with all diners given the option to order 'Room for Dessert' directly from the menu between 12-18 February. For $400, guests will be presented with a beautiful sweet treat with a twist - a room key automatically checking them in for the night, complete with a half bottle of Mumm NV Champagne waiting on ice.

Albert Park’s contemporary Indian restaurant Atta is offering diners a very special five course menu, including a limited-edition dessert with a glass of Pizzini Prosecco on arrival, for $85 per person.

Special loved ones can be treated to a specially designed four-course set menu at Bacash. Diners can taste some of Melbourne's finest seafood matched with spectacular wine in the warm and intimate restaurant on Domain Road, South Yarra. A stroll across the road to Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens to catch a flick at the Moonlight Cinema could be the perfect Valentine's day itinerary.

Or for the ultimate rom-com action, a screening of 'Love Actually' at South Wharf Pop-Up Riverside Cinema where the espresso martinis will be flowing for the single ladies celebrating 'Galentine's Day'.

Hopeless romantics will go weak at the knees for Luna Love at Luna Park. For just $75, couples can enjoy unlimited rides, a souvenir photo on the romantic Great Scenic Railway adventure, chocolate hearts, carnival goodies and a fairy floss to top off the sweet affair.

Garden State Hotel is offering an indulgent four-course, romantic culinary journey by head chef Ashly Hicks in The Garden Grill. Or for an extra special feast, there is a six-course degustation for $90 per person. Garden State is also teaming up with Mary Mary Studio to create a special Valentine's Day Pop-Up Florist, making it even easier to spoil loved ones. Beautiful blooms will be on sale outside the Flinders Lane venue from Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th February.

Grosvenor Hotel St Kilda East is offering something a bit different to impress beaus and belles this February 14, with free Valentine's Day-themed trivia. Kicking off at 8pm, couples will be put through their paces on the subject of rom-coms, love song dedications and all-things Tinder! To stay lubricated, there’s the cheeky 'Friends with Benefits' cocktail or 'Friends without Benefits' mocktail. Bookings are essential.

Oriental Teahouse is launching a yum cha date night with a twist. ‘Dumplings for Dating’is table-sized “getting to know you” board game for couples to have a bit of fun, whilst enjoying delicious dumplings and specially designed cocktails. Kicking off on Valentine’s Day, couples new and old, will be challenged to four stages of the game, from ice-breaker questions, to more intimate quizzes and dares. The $60 three-course feast is sure to spark some conversation between lovers.

Dai Dong, Head Chef and Co-owner of Uncle St Kilda and Collins St, has created a special dessert offering to make sure V Day is a sweet affair for all. There's the Monkey banana split, with peanut praline, coconut foam, tapioca and popping candy, along with the Spiced chocolate mousse, ice cream, crispy pearls, dried raspberries and snap.

The newly opened Godiva in Melbourne Emporium will keep bae's happy. The Gold Collection Heart Gift Box, presented in luxuriously crafted golden gift boxes, features Godiva's most treasured chocolates with classic Belgian fillings including velvety ganache, creamy caramels, luscious pralines, delicious fruit and nuts in milk, dark, and white chocolate.

Piccolina Gelateria is creating a limited-edition mono portion gelato cake, the 'Valentina', a raspberry swirl gelato cake with a layer of chocolate fudge brownie and fresh raspberries, coated in white chocolate and freeze-dried raspberries. 'Valentina' will be available at both their Collingwood and Hawthorn stores.

Lovebirds looking for an intimate setting to cosy up need look no further than Wine 1160, in the of Armadale. Guests can enjoy delectable wine and cheese pairings on the most romantic day of the year, $60 per person includes four cheeses and wine or $85 per person includes six cheeses with wine.

South Yarra’s new Turkish restaurant Yagiz has crafted an impressive six-course Turkish degustation thanks to head chef Murat Ovaz. Matched with a tightly curated wine list highlighting boutique Turkish varietals, the evening offers a unique sensory experience. All this for $85 per person for the six-course degustation, or the wine-pairing option for $250 per couple.

SkyHigh Mount Dandenong is offering a three-course a la carte meal with unbeatable views over the Melbourne city skyline at sunset.

Love is in the air at The Eagle at Arthur’s Seat this February 14. The Cupid’s Cabins offer couples the chance to snuggle up and soar above the Mornington Peninsula in a state-of-the-art gondola cabin. Lovers can take things to new heights as they soar above Port Phillip Bay with views back towards Melbourne’s city.
