Breakfast at Kongde!

We would like to share is a unique opportunity of an experience at the Top of the World. Every now and then an incentive client will say that we want to do something that is truly spectacular, crazy and we have a great budget to spend on that.

Envision standing between snow-capped peaks in the mightiest mountain range in the world. In this experience we fly guests in helicopters from Kathmandu, Nepal for about 75 minutes deep into the Himalayas to a secluded spot at 14,200 feet in the region of Kongde, an area devoid of all signs of modernity.

Lying in the shadow of Kongde Ri, a mountain in the Himalayas of eastern Nepal, the mountain is classified as a trekking peak, but it is considered one of the more difficult to climb.

Here we touchdown for about 15-20 minutes for a spectacular view of Mt Everest. To give you an idea how remote this area, getting to Kongde requires a ten-hour, Sherpa-guided trek through high alpine terrain from the nearest airport which is a 90 minutes flight by plane from Kathmandu.

This is truly a remote and desolate part of the world and offers a truly one-of-a-kind incentive moment.

To put things in perspective on how high we go
  • Altitude of New York City-768 ft.
  • Altitude of Kathmandu City-4.500 ft.
  • Altitude of Machu Picchu-8.000 ft.
  • Altitude of Kongde-landing point-14.200 ft.
  • Altitude of Mt.Everest-29.035 ft.

At the touchdown point we serve Champagne and Cheese. This is a great and fun experience for the guests. Never would they have imagined that they would be able to experience the mighty Himalayas with such grandeur and class.

That is a pretty impressive activity by any standard

The key highlights of the program are as follows

  • Early morning take a Chartered Helicopter to Lukla, gateway to the Everest region and from where all expeditions and treks begin.
  • We land at Tenzing-Hillary airport in Lukla, situated at 2680 meters. A unique and steep airstrip known to be the most thrilling in the world.

Later our helicopter takes us up to Kongde Ri 4.250 m regarded as a holy mountain although it is open for climbing. We land at the Kongde Lodge, reportedly the highest in the world at 4.250 m and will have a breakfast over there.

The views from here are magnificent and in the backdrop of a champagne breakfast we see the entire glory of the Himalayas: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyo, Gyajung Khangand AmaDablam. Way down below is the picturesque Khumbu valley.

Due to the high altitude, we spend around 45 minutes at Kongde Lodge before helicoptering back to Kathmandu via Lukla.
