The new route is expected to pump $90 million into Tropical North Queensland over the next three years, while more than 33,000 Chinese visitors are expected to arrive in the first year alone.
China is the fastest growing international market for Queensland and the new service was secured through the Advance Queensland Connecting with Asia fund, in partnership with Cairns Airport, Tourism Australia, Cairns Regional Council and Tourism Tropical North Queensland.
