Dreamlike Autumn leaves 2 - Fall in southern Tohoku

The season for beautiful autumn leaves in Southern Tohoku is slightly later than the Northern areas of the region.

The best time to see the leaves are around the beginning of October, so why not aim at having a nice stroll through the autumn forests?

In Miyagi, one of the best places to experience this is Shiwahiko Shrine-Shiogama Shrine in Shiogama city.

The pairing of the shrine, and the vibrant leaves creates a wonderful atmosphere.

Also, make sure not to overlook Mt. Jogi, known as a very scenic location.

In Yamagata, recommended viewing spots included Bonji River Forge and Yudono Moutain.

The yellow and red of the forest leaves and the contrasting blue sky above is extremely beautiful.
Fukushima prefecture's Goshiki-numa and the fire-colored leaves that cover the surrounding Mt. Bandai is a stunning scene to look forward too.

Also, in Ōuchi-juku you can see traditional Japanese houses surrounded by colored mountains in later October.

Don't miss your chance to see the autumn leaves in Southern Tohoku this year!
