The country is expected to receive a huge boost to tourism arrivals next year as a result of the hosting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games and the associated worldwide publicity South Korea will receive.
Many Australians have already discovered Korea as a great ski destination and no doubt Korea's profile as an excellent ski destination will be greatly enhanced as a result.
Add to this the already well known tourism drawcards such as Korea's long history and culture, its growing reputation as a great foodie destination, it's trend-setting fashions and pop culture and Korea offers it's visitors a truly memorable and fun-filled holiday.
Korea has also seen the opening of several new attractions this year with Seoul Sky, the world's third highest observatory opening in the Korean capital on 2 April, 2017 making it one the latest popular attractions in the city. The observatory is located on the upper floors (117-123) of Seoul's new and now tallest building, Lotte World Tower.
Seoul also got its own high-line with the opening of Seoullo 7017, a pedestrian walkway along a disused highway located around the main Seoul rail station. The walkway is beautifully lit at night and city walkers can enjoy great views of Seoul from above.
Seoul Metropolitan Government offers a great new tour program offering a Seoullo 7017 Tasting Seoul Tour allowing visitors to taste a variety of foods from different restaurants as they wander along Seoullo 7017. The tours take approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
