KORAIL is making it easier than ever for tourists and expatriates living in Korea to explore the country by train. Getting around by rail in Korea is fast, easy and reliable and you can travel from Seoul-Busan, the length of the country in around two hours due to the super- fast KTX services.
Travellers with a foreign passport can purchase a KORAIL PASS, valid for a specific duration and then travel freely all over Korea within their selected period.
KORAIL PASS is also now more convenient to purchase and use. Pass users can purchase tickets and make seat selections through the KORAIL website up to thirty days in advance without having to visit the train station in person.
Passes available range from 1, 3, 5 and 7 consecutive day passes, and a 2 and 4 day select pass which is for flexible use.
Prices for a one day pass range from 81,000 Korean won for adult (approx. A$90) and 40,000 Korean won for child (approx. A$44)
Prices for a 7 day consecutive pass range from 195,000 Korean won (approx. A$218) for adult and 97,000 Korean won (approx. A$108) for a child. Save more with the Saver Pass for a group of 2-5 persons with the same travel schedule (roughly 10 per cent discount).
Children under the age of 4 years are free when accompanied by one guardian who pays a regular adult fare. A youth saver pass is available to those aged 13-25 years or students holding an ISIC card.
Travellers need to pre-select the first date of travel within 90 days from the purchase date in advance. Seats can be booked online in advance. The KORAIL PASS can be purchased via the KORAIL website: www.letskorail.com or appointed travel agencies.
