“The Metro – Forest Project” opens in Bangkok

The latest eco-tourism attraction to open in Bangkok is the 4.74 acre “The Metro – Forest Project”. Dubbed as a “forest in the city”, this project has the aim to help visitors of all ages recognise the importance of urban forests and inspire them to plant trees in their homes. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that the forest is grown as close as possible to the indigenous forest in Bangkok.

Members of the general public can observe the 250 native plant species in the forest from a sky walk and an observation tower. There is also a exhibition hall and learning center. “The Metro – Forest Project” (โครงการป่าในกรุง ปตท.), in Prawet district in Eastern Bangkok, is open ever day except Mondays, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
