Phu My Hung Spring Flower Fair 2017

With the theme “Prosperous Spring”, Phu My Hung Spring Flower Fair 2017 will take place from 20 – 26 January 2017 (the 23rd – 29th days of the twelfth lunar month) in Ban Nguyet Lake area, Phu My Hung Urban Area, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

This year’s Phu My Hung Spring Flower Fair is organized on the area of 7ha and divided into 4 main areas, namely Spring Street, Spring Garden, Spring Wharf and Spring Contribution. Of which, Spring Street includes the specific models and scenes describing the prosperous and peaceful scenery of Vietnamese countryside. The highlight of this area is Moc Xuan Thao Duoc (Spring Herbal) Street displaying many herbs such as ferns, honeysuckle, mint basil, South America pineapple, etc.

Spring Garden Area with many typical fruit of Vietnamese countryside such as gourd, pumpkin, loofah, egg-plant, etc gives visitors the interesting experiences of the life in rural villages. Especially, this area will be the place to organize the contest of ornament flower to honor Vietnamese flowers.

Staged and decorated on Ban Nguyet Lake, Spring Wharf Area will create the image of the Southern waterway region with flower boats and agricultural product boats. Here, there is also a dock to drop flower lanterns to pray good fortune in new year. In addition, many unique activities such as performances of don ca tai tu music and song, quan ho singing, boating, etc will be also held in this area.

Spring Contribution Area will display the art ornament flower works of artisans and gardeners from many localities nationwide.

Besides, Phu My Hung Spring Flower Fair 2017 also has 500 booths of ornament flowers, 200 booths of specialties of regions to serve visitors. The booths will open from 20 to 26 January 2017. In particular, the areas of Spring Street and Spring Garden will open from 20 January to 2 February 2017 (from the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month to the 6th day of the first lunar month).

The opening ceremony of Phu My Hung Spring Flower Festival 2017 will be begun at 19h on 21 January 2017 (the 24th day of the twelfth lunar month) with the performance of chau van singing - one of the practices related to the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms recently recognized as Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
