AUSTRALIA'S QUINTESSENTIAL BUSH POETRY FESTIVAL

Banjo Paterson
A festival celebrating the life and work of one of Australia’s most loved literary icons will take place in Regional NSW next month.

The Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival runs for 10 days from 16-26 February 2017 in his birthplace, Orange in Central NSW.

The Festival comprises five signature events – the Rotary Brekky & Poetry in the Park; Banjo’s Birthday Breakfast; the renowned Banjo Paterson Night Market; the gorgeous Emmaville Cottage Family Market Day, featuring artisanal local craft and produce; and the Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Competition.

In a region renowned for its quality cool-climate wine and a dream destination for foodies, the Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival provides a very hospitable umbrella of culture.

For the first time, the event is also broadening its scope to embrace the richness and diversity of the Wiradjuri nation’s cultural heritage, with Indigenous Cultural Tours hosting ventures with local Elders to ceremonial and sacred sites in the area. There will also be an Indigenous art and craft exhibition and a presentation on local Wiradjuri history at the Orange Regional Art Gallery.
