The Sydney Festival is underway with a vibrant program of 150 events featuring theatre, dance, art and live performance, including 73 free events across the city.
One of the most popular experiences at this year's Sydney Festival is The Beach, a unique take on the iconic, sand-filled Sydney Summer experience, with 1.1 million recyclable polyethylene balls filling the Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve, complete with deck chairs and umbrellas, to create a holiday paradise. The free experience is open every day except Mondays from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Other highlights include The House of Mirrors, a fascinating labyrinth of endless mirrors at Hyde Park, Scent of Sydney where artist Cat Jones distills into the scents of Sydney's identity, Tim Finn's smash hit musical Ladies in Black and a truly special Summer experience, Symphony Under the Stars with performances at The Domain and The Crescent at Parramatta Park.
NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said, "The Sydney Festival encapsulates the unique energy and pulse that runs through our Harbour city in Summer, making it a must-see attraction for visitors from around the world."
The Sydney Festival runs to 29 January 2017. For more information visit www.sydneyfestival.org.au/2017.
