In an exceptional achievement, both Rick Stein at Bannisters in Mollymook and St Isidore restaurant in Milton were awarded with One Hat, equivalent to a score of 15/20, at the 2017 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards. Rick Stein at Bannisters specialises in Australian Cuisine, featuring local South Coast ingredients and St Isidore's is contemporary in style, celebrating the beauty of season and origin reflected in its menu.
The industry-led Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards employ Australia's leading food critics to contribute to an independent, anonymous and unbiased annual restaurant guide. With a total of 20 points on offer, 10 are awarded for food, five for service, three for ambience, and two for wow factor.

Shoalhaven restaurants Cupitts Kitchen, part of Cupitts Winery, and SOUTH on Albany were also rewarded for their extraordinary offering at the 2016 NSW Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence. Cupitts Kitchen was a double winner, taking out both the Restaurant Winery and the Tourism Restaurant – People Produce Place awards. Cupitts Kitchen specialises in seasonal food with French and English influences and provides a comfortable and sophisticated dining experience right in the heart of the winery. SOUTH on Albany was the winner of the Contemporary Australian Restaurant – Informal award in an incredibly tough section. SOUTH on Albany has a strong modern European influence and has an emphasis on sourcing the freshest local produce.Both Cupitts Kitchen and SOUTH on Albany are also finalists in the 2016 National Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence, due to be announced October 24.
