NSW SIGNS NEW AGREEMENT WITH SINGAPORE AIRLINES

The NSW Government has signed a new three-year agreement with Singapore Airlines, which is set to further boost tourism across the State.

NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said the new $1.8 million agreement with Singapore Airlines comes as the airline’s international services to Canberra are providing a boost for tourism in the Snowy Mountains and surrounds.

“This new strategic partnership brokered by Destination NSW will focus on driving visitation from key markets including the United Kingdom, Singapore, India, Indonesia and Malaysia to allow tourists to experience the magic of our Harbour City and our diverse natural regions,” Mr Ayres said.

“Investing in aviation partnerships is part of the successful strategy which is driving more tourists to NSW than ever before, helping maintain our positon as Australia’s premier tourism and events State.”

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said NSW continues to attract more international visitors than any other Australian State, with over 3.6 million overseas visitors spending a record $9.1 billion to June this year.

The new agreement will focus on destination and event marketing including joint consumer advertising campaigns featuring price-led tactical offers and hosting media visits to NSW.
