ibtm world creates more exhibiting options for Spanish MICE industry

Some 3,000 Hosted Buyers and Trade Visitors who attended ibtm world 2015 said they were there to meet with the Spanish MICE industry and this demand is expected to increase this year according to the latest Euromonitor stats with Europe hosting half of all international association meetings, Spain in the top 10 as a key market, and top of the league for MICE arrivals in Europe.

To meet the demand ibtm world is expanding the range of exhibiting options available to the Spanish industry to give them the platform to access this demand from the attending Hosted Buyers and Trade Visitors. Currently Spanish companies can take their own stand on the show floor or share with an NTO or CVB, but this year there will also be a Spanish Pavilion. This stand alone dedicated regional area will give independent Spanish MICE suppliers a turnkey hassle free solution without the need for the costs associated with stand build.

Launching the feature Graeme Barnett, Senior Exhibition Director, ibtm world said; “ We have had high demand from the industry in Spain again as a result of the boom from inbound MICE business so we have expanded the number of exhibiting options to including this new Spanish Pavilion, which we expect to be popular with independent companies wanting to be part of what ibtm world delivers but with a hassle free option and an all inclusive price, so we encourage suppliers to take advantage of this new initiative”.

The package will give each exhibitor their own 4sqm shell scheme space within the Pavilion, furniture, electricity and a personalised diary of up to 42 pre-scheduled appointments.

All exhibitors will also be able to benefit from the ibtm Knowledge programme that includes a number of Spanish education sessions, and networking with some 15.500 industry professionals from over 150 countries who attend ibtm world every year.

"Last year, the people we met were really 'doing business' so the quality of meetings was great. They were also looking for a stage for long term relationships which was very interesting for us." Said Herve Joseph Antoine, Global Managing Director, Pacific World

“This is a great business opportunity for small, independent Spanish companies who want to put their brand in the spotlight at ibtm world this year, the leading meetings industry event on their own doorstep in Barcelona. “ added Barnett
