Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) proudly
launched the second instalment of its Experience Trails which showcases the
array of unique attractions visitors can enjoy on the Sunshine Coast.
The Attractions Trail is supported with a microsite
and a social media photo competition to encourage people to share a photo of
themselves enjoying one of the many experiences on the trails. It is also being
promoted via YouTube and digital media channels.
SCDL CEO Steve Cooper said, "The Attractions
Trail - which aims to attract visitors to the region for a specific purpose and
increase their length of stay - follows close on the heels of the successful
Nature Trails campaign.
"The two trails form part of our year-round
campaign with future campaigns to include Arts and Culture, Food and Wine,
Markets and Coastal Fun, which are linked online to accommodation deals."
The social media campaign is part of the online
marketing strategy to 'spread the word' about the trails.
"People love to share photos on social media
sites. The competition is to inspire members of the public to visit the
Sunshine Coast attractions and encourage them to share their experiences with
their online friends by uploading images of their trip.
"We're asking them to upload the photos to
Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and then write a sentence telling us what they
enjoyed about their trail experience. The entrant with the most votes will win
$1000,"Mr Cooper said.
The Sunshine Coast Attractions Trail includes
Australia Zoo, Big Kart Track, Aussie World, Go Wake, Suncoast Barra Fishing,
Bellingham Maze, UnderWater World, Big Pineapple, The Ginger Factory and
Sunshine Castle.
