Adrian Zechan |
Adrian Zecha was one of three founding partners of Regent International Hotels in 1972 - one of Asia's first luxury hotel groups. He was responsible for the development and financing of RIH’s hotel projects and in that capacity contributed to the company’s rapid growth into one of the world’s leading operator/owners of luxury hotels. In addition to his position at Aman Resorts, Zecha is non-executive chairman of General Hotel Management Ltd (GHM), a developer and manager of luxury hotels and resorts.
Amanpuri (Place of Peace) |
Comprising 23 properties yet fewer than 900 rooms worldwide, Amanresorts has a staff-to-guest ratio of six to one. The first Amanresort, Amanpuri (Place of Peace) was founded in 1987 in Thailand by Indonesian born Zecha, at a time when the concept of small boutique resorts was still in its infancy.
Now in its fifth year, ILTM Asia (www.iltm.net/asia) invites the world’s definitive collection of luxury experiences and prestigious luxury travel products to meet with 400 of the most discerning buyers of luxury travel from the Asia Pacific region. The rapid growth in Asian travel markets has created a real need for the global industry to understand the region’s many cultures and specific luxury travel trends at this pioneering event.
