With the recommendation from the Climate Change Commission to phase out imports of fossil-fueled cars by no later than 2035, GO Rentals is taking proactive steps to contribute to this transition.
The Climate Change Commission's recommendation is a significant milestone in New Zealand's journey toward a sustainable future. By encouraging the accelerated adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), the country aims to reduce its carbon emissions and foster a cleaner transportation sector. GO Rentals fully supports this vision and is aligning its operations with this progressive approach.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, GO Rentals is fostering a Clean Car initiative – the car rental companies goal is to achieve broader sustainable initiatives through a series of actions, education and incentives. The Clean Car initiative aims to promote the adoption of clean and energy-efficient vehicles short and long term.
As part of the overall initiative they are holding a Clean Car promotion for one week only from the 4th – 10th September in celebration of World EV Day (on the 9 September) where customers will be able to take advantage of some fantastic deals on all of their EV (Electric) and Hybrid vehicles.
"We firmly believe that the transition to electric vehicles is crucial for the long-term well-being of our planet. Every small step counts and by holding our Clean Car promotion to celebrate World EV Day on the 9 September we are making small steps in the right direction.
Longer term, to support our Clean Car initiative we are aiming have a third of our fleet a mix of fully electric or hybrids in the next 12 months" Says James Dalglish, Chief Operating Officer, GO Rentals.
GO Rentals has always been committed to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality rental vehicles. With the addition of electric vehicles and hybrids to its fleet, the company is ensuring that customers have access to the latest advancements in automotive technology while contributing to a more sustainable future.
GO Rentals is paving the way in the Car Rental Industry in terms of sustainability and climate change action being New Zealand’s first rental car business to partner with CarbonClick. When customers rent a vehicle with GO Rentals, they get the opportunity to offset their emissions with CarbonClick – reducing the impact of their drive and can calculate their driving footprint by offsetting via the website.
