Instead of a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, we’re building an enormous mirror stage, five bars and restaurants and award-winning toilet blocks. Oh, and we’ve only got 15 days to get it done.
Head down to Fleet Steps at Mrs Macquaries Point right now and you’ll see a flurry of activity, as an 150-strong team work to complete the site for La Traviata on Sydney Harbour before the cast and crew arrive to begin rehearsals on stage.
By opening night, you’ll never know it was a construction site, as opera-lovers, visitors, friends and celebrities dress up to enjoy the world’s most performed opera against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
