Snow Wall in Japan

An area with some of the heaviest snowfall in the world, the mountain route which connects Toyama and Nagano prefectures is a tourist favourite every snow season (and no, we don't mean winter).

During the Yuki-no-Otani Festival (Snow Wall Festival) from April 15 to June 22, you can walk between vertical walls of snowpack which can be as much as 20 meters high! Just take the Tateyama cablecar from Tateyama Station and highland bus to Murodo to get to the amazing 500-meter-long Snow Corridor.
