Over 100 electric cars ready to serve tourists on Quan Lan island

A fleet of more than 100 electric vehicles has officially been brought into operation to serve tourists visiting Quan Lan island in Van Don district in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The electric four-wheel vehicles will operate two separate routes on the island, the first from Minh Chau wharf to the centre of Quan Lan commune, and the second from Quan Lan wharf to the centre of Minh Chau commune.

Each electric car has met the necessary regulations while drivers have been equipped with training courses to improve their service skills.

Do Minh Hoan, vice chairman of the Quan Lan commune People’s Committee, said the owners of the electric vehicles will have to clearly list their prices under the regulations.

In particular, any price list should include telephone numbers of hot lines of relevant management units thus making it easier for customers to give feedback.

In late 2018 three-wheel vehicles were banned from operating on the island as they were the cause of numerous road traffic accidents.

By putting the electric cars into operation, it is hoped that the service quality for visitors to Quan Lan island will improve along with providing a more environmentally friendly service.
