Yamazato, the signature Japanese restaurant at The Okura Prestige Bangkok—which was awarded the Michelin Plate designation for the second year in a row in the Michelin Guide Thailand, making it one of only five Japanese restaurants among the 77 restaurants listed in the Michelin Plate category—celebrates the traditional Japanese Boys’ Festival known as Kodomo no Hi with special Gozen lunch platters and a spectacular 8-course Kaiseki dinner.
The first Gozen lunch platter comprises an appetizer of smoked salmon with shrimp, a soup of scallop dumpling and shimeji mushroom, and a selection of sashimi. The second platter offers tempura, a grilled dish of moonfish with butterbur and miso garnished with paprika, lotus root and pine nuts. The Kaiseki dinner is a multi-course feast with highlights such as pomelo with torched conger eel and crabmeat served with plum sauce, and a standout dish of grilled Spanish mackerel and beef with miso dressing garnished with marinated tomato, eggplant, eryngi mushroom and zucchini.
