The Okura Prestige Bangkok Recognised With Michelin Guide Comfort & Quality Ratin

The management of The Okura Prestige Bangkok is pleased to announce that the luxurious 5-star hotel situated in the heart of the city has once again been recognised in the Michelin Guide Thailand, Michelin Guide 2019 Bangkok, Phuket and Phang-nga as a hotel of comfort and quality.

In addition to the famous stars awarded to restaurants around the globe, the Michelin Guide also assesses top hotels for comfort levels and gives ratings ranging from ‘quite comfortable’ to ‘luxury in the traditional style’. The Michelin Guide Thailand, Michelin Guide 2019 Bangkok, Phuket and Phang-nga rated The Okura Prestige Bangkok as offering ‘Top Class Comfort’.

Commenting on the accolade, Mr. Edward E. Snoeks, General Manager of The Okura Prestige Bangkok, said, “Receiving praise from an internationally-recognised publication of the stature of the famous Michelin Guide for the second consecutive year is a great honour. The Okura Prestige Bangkok has ranked among the city’s top ten in the TripAdvisor Rating since 2014. We care greatly about our facilities and our services to guests. To be rated prominently in Michelin’s new guide demonstrates the consistent high quality of our offerings—everything from our various types of accommodation to our housekeeping, business centre and concierge services. Our teams can be rightly proud of this recognition. It is an affirmation of the hard work they put in every day and a spur to continually improve.”

Located in the heart of downtown Bangkok on Wireless Road, The Okura Prestige Bangkok, which opened in May 2012, encompasses 240 rooms and suites that offer impressive views across the city’s skyline through triple-glazed e-coated panoramic windows. The rooms combine comfort and luxury with the very latest technological developments designed to impress business and leisure travellers; from the finest Egyptian cotton sheets to environmentally friendly bathroom amenities, digital bedside control panels and flat-screen internet-enabled TVs. Club Level rooms offer an exclusive level of privacy with bespoke services available at the Okura Club Lounge. The hotel also boasts a grand ballroom and event facilities, a fully equipped business centre and a spectacular 25-metre cantilevered infinity swimming pool at the 25th floor, where a state-of-the-art fitness centre and the luxurious five-suite Okura Spa can also be found.

In addition, The Okura Prestige Bangkok is known for its award-winning dining outlets. These include Elements restaurant, which recently earned a Michelin star for the second consecutive year for its delicious French cuisine prepared with Japanese influences, and Yamazato, which serves authentic Japanese cuisine including traditional Kaiseki Ryōri set menus, outstanding teppanyaki, sushi and sashimi and an extensive à la carte menu. Yamazato was recently awarded the Michelin Plate distinction for the second year in a row in the Michelin Guide Thailand, Michelin Guide 2019 Bangkok, Phuket and Phang-nga.
