Academy Award-winning director and deep-sea explorer, James Cameron, will take visitors on a virtual journey to the depths of the ocean in a brand new immersive exhibition coming to the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney this year.

James Cameron – Challenging the Deep will premiere at the Museum supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, and will run from 29 May 2018 until 30 January 2019.

NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said the exhibition will provide a significant boost to the NSW visitor economy.

“Given the worldwide appeal of Cameron’s work, we expect around 4,800 people will travel to Sydney from interstate and overseas to experience the exhibition, with a total visitor spend of approximately $4.6 million,” Mr Marshall said.
