TAMWORTH TO HOST INTERNATIONAL EQUINE EVENT

The 20th American Quarter Horse Association International Youth World Cup, hosted by the Australian Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), will be held in Tamworth next year, attracting emerging equestrian riders from around the world to Regional NSW. NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres said the event will take place at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC), the largest indoor equine centre in the southern hemisphere, delivering more than $1 million in overnight visitor expenditure.

“The NSW Government will be supporting the AQHA International Youth World Cup through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW,” Mr Ayres said. “This exciting youth sporting event will see family and friends travel to Tamworth for an extended period to support the competitors.”

The AQHA International Youth World Cup will feature riding teams from 13 countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway the UK and the USA from 23 June until 3 July 2016.
