7 Dazzling Reasons to Visit the Disneyland Resort this Holiday Season

The Disneyland® Resort is currently in the middle of its biggest celebrations for its 60th anniversary. Combine that with its popular holiday activities and you have one of the most magnificent experiences in the park's history! Here are seven dazzling reasons why you should take part and enjoy the Disneyland Resort for the holidays.

1) The Dazzling Decor

Disneyland’s Resort Enhancement Department once again outdid themselves by turning both parks into two sparkling holiday wonderlands. This year’s decorations differ from previous years thanks to the previously mentioned Diamond Celebration. This mean, you can expect to see bold blues and sparkling diamond ornament dazzling trees and garland in every corner of the parks.

2) The Dazzling Holiday Experiences

There are so many experiences that are only around for the holiday season. For example, experiences like ¡Viva Navidad! in Disney California Adventure Park invites guests to celebrate the holidays the latin way. For those who are more into traditional experiences—Santa is ready to meet-and-greet with you off Buena Vista Street.

Don’t Miss: Olaf’s Snow Fest in Hollywood Land for warm hugs and actual snow sledding!

3) The Dazzling Atmosphere

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks are beautiful places. Beyond their attractions and shows, every aspect of the park is polished to transport you into another world. Disneyland’s Horticulture team did a fantastic job by adding new lit trees on Main Street USA and bright poinsettias off Buena Vista Street to immerse you into the holiday feeling.

Don’t Forget: To grab a hot cocoa from the Market Place off Main Street USA and park yourself on a nearby bench. There isn't a better way of taking in the holiday atmosphere and energy.

4) The Dazzling Foods

The holiday-only foods alone are another reason you should visit the California Disney Resort. Over at Disney California Adventure Park—there are seasonal treats like the simple, yet (delicious) snowman sugar cookie. Disneyland Park has candy cane beignets that, paired with the included vanilla Anglaise, give a holly twist to a park favorite.

Don’t Miss: The handmade, world-famous Disneyland candy canes. There’s a process to buying them, so if you’re quick to act, you’ll be treated to a one-of-a-kind sweet treat.

5) The Dazzling Souvenirs

You can’t leave Disneyland without a visit to one of the many shops in both parks! If you’re looking for something for yourself or as a gift for someone else, you’ll have an easy time shopping. You can find special limited edition pins and ornaments at both the Emporium in Disneyland Park and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure Park.

Don’t Forget: To pick up one of this year’s Disney character holiday plushes, which change in appearance every year.

6) The Dazzling Nighttime Entertainment

Always end your visit to the Disneyland Resort with one (or all) of the nighttime entertainment offerings at both parks. Disney California Adventure Park is playing two different version of World of Color that include their holiday show “Winter Dreams” and their 60th-anniversary show “Celebrate” every night. Disneyland Park, of course, has the 60th-anniversary special fireworks show “Disneyland Forever” that has a snow-filled moment.

Don’t Miss: Watching “Fantasmic!” this year before it goes dark for over a year due to the construction of a new Star Wars-themed land coming to the resort in a few years.

7) The Dazzling Star Wars Experiences

Just in time for the holiday season and the upcoming release of the new Star Wars film, Disneyland has turned Tomorrowland into a Star Wars wonderland. Called Season of the Force—many attractions within the land have been re-imagined for fans of the Light and Dark Side. Star Tours transports you to brand new planets and even a few from the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Tomorrowland Expo Center (formerly Innoventions) is now the Star Wars Launch Bay that displays props from the films as well as meet-and-greets with Chewbacca and/or Darth Vader!
Don’t Miss: Hyperspace Mountain, a totally new experience that has transformed Space Mountain into a place where two sides of the Force clash in an aerial dog fight!
