Three Major Chinese Airlines to Provide In-Flight Wi-Fi

Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines have each received approval to begin providing Wi-Fi services to passengers in flight. 

China Eastern was the first to offer Wi-Fi, on both domestic and international flights, earlier this month. China Southern and Air China are expected to launch their Wi-Fi offerings in the coming month. 

The state-of-the-art technology being installed is expected to provide passengers faster Wi-Fi service than even what they receive on the ground; according to China Southern Airlines’ senior engineer, the bandwidth will be 50-fold faster than previous technology.
