DREAM LOVER MUSICAL TO HIT THE RIGHT NOTE

Almost 30,000 musical fans are expected to visit Sydney next year when Dream Lover, The Bobby Darin Musical makes its Australian premiere in Sydney. It tells the fascinating story of the Grammy award-winning singer and Oscar-nominated actor and features music genres from pop and rock to jazz, folk and country. Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase, said “With hit songs from the 1960s including ‘Mack the Knife’, ‘Splish Splash’ and of course ‘Dream Lover’, this sensational musical is set to provide audiences with an unforgettable performance.”

Dream Lover, The Bobby Darin Musical will be staged at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in September 2016 for a 10-week run and was secured by the NSW Government through Destination NSW.

Jam-packed with hit tunes from the ‘50s and ‘60s, including Splish-Splash, Mack The Knife, Beyond The Sea and the multi-million seller Dream Lover, the show illuminates the fragility and might of the bright-blazing star.

Staged by the acclaimed director Simon Phillips (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), DREAM LOVER is more than a rags to riches story as it reveals the determination, yearning and heaven-sent talents of the Grammy Award-winning boy from the Bronx.
