GOLD TRAIL FESTIVAL 2013


19 - 21 APRIL: HARRDEN SHIRE GOLD TRAIL FESTIVAL
 
Annual festival with re-enactment of historic events 1860 - 1897 connected to the discovery of gold on the Burrangong Goldfields. Features this year include digital light show on Friday at 7.30pm; art and sculptures by the creek, regional food and wines, music, antique cars, triathlon and dinner Saturday; Colonial Festival with reenactments, demonstrations, Cobb & Co mail coach rides; displays of Chinese costumes and bushranger relics, art exhibition, live music, dancing, games, billy cart derby, gold panning and market stalls at the showground Sunday.

The feature event in the Festival will be the re-enactment of the Battle of Wallendbeen. The atmosphere will be lively, with the fantastic horsemanship of locals and two performances from the Bush Dance Display group from Canberra. The dancers will wear period costume and the music will be provided by a wonderful live folk band.
 
This year brings the return of the Cobb and Co coach and the return of Vince Wren with his entertaining muzzle loading and firing. Gold Panning a favourite for young and old. Come try your luck. Games, food and a wide variety of stalls will be there on the day.

  • Re-enactments, trades and crafts demonstrations
  • Cobb & Co Mail Coach rides, historical displays
  • MUsic & Dancing, prizes for bestr colonial outfits
  • Gold panning, colonial games, billy cat derby
  • Market Stalla & Food including Colonial fare
  Wheelchair access, free parking. Good walking shoes are recommended.
